Job Opportunities

Digital Music Facilitator
Creative Alternative Provision (KS1/KS2)

Inspire primary-aged children with challenging behaviour through music, drama & creativity.

Location: Derby City
Pay: £80–£150 per day
Contract: Term-time | 2–4 days per week

This role is for you if…

You believe that behaviour is communication, not defiance.
You can walk into a room of dysregulated children and connect — through creativity, humour, music, performance, and trust.
You want your work to change the course of a child’s education, not just manage a classroom.

At S L Drama Academy CIC, we work with KS1 and KS2 children who have struggled in mainstream settings due to trauma, anxiety, school refusal, exclusions, or additional needs. Many present with challenging behaviour — and that’s exactly where creativity becomes powerful.

About the Role

You will deliver engagement-led, creative sessions within alternative provision settings, using:

  • Music & songwriting
  • Digital music-making
  • Rap, beatboxing & performance
  • Drama, role-play & creative expression

Your work will help children to:

  • Build confidence, trust and emotional regulation
  • Develop self-esteem and resilience
  • Re-engage with learning in a positive way
  • Begin transitioning back into mainstream education where appropriate

This is relationship-first work. Patience, adaptability, and genuine care are essential.

You’ll receive full training, clear guidance, and ongoing support — you won’t be thrown in alone.

Pay & Working Pattern

  • £80–£150 per day (Music Mentor - Lead Facilitator rate)
  • Minimum 2–3 days per week (up to 4 available)
  • Term-time only
  • In-person delivery across Derby City
